The Monopoly Planet

Not so long ago, and not even far away, was a planet, which we will refer to as “The Monopoly Planet.”

Many lifeforms evolved on this planet, and everything was in balance. But as we know, that is not how nature naturally works. In the endless seas of entropy, existence is a never ending cycle of rising and falling.

After a few million years, nature dropped a mutation into the planets system. A not so special ape started to develop one of the most destructive abilities in all known universes: Boredom.

So what did the bored apes do? They invented a game called “Civilisation.” The basic rules where to act as if only they exist and their complete environment was just a backdrop to the game. The more your distance to your environment increases, the better you play.

After they invented a concept called ownership, the whole thing went down hill. It didn't took very long and they realised that the possibilities of things to own was not enough.

They started to create papers and metal plates they called money. This money was nothing of any value. It even was manufactured poorly most of the times. But that's not important for the apes. They already played for generations, and the inventors of the game didn't exist anymore at this time. They grow up in the game, they live for the game, they die for the game.

Any ape would deny any possibility that his life is a part of this game. Sometimes they could even get angry if you told them anyway, with waves of uncontrolled primitive aggressions.

They didn't even wanted to see the earth anymore, so they started to cover the planet with artificial stone floors and streets. They cut down all the trees and let many different kinds of species die.

In later times ─short before it all ended─ after they forgot their former belief's and instincts and served imaginative entities, and after the times of great war's in the names of their gods, they started to focus their faith in the only thing they always were sure that it can bring them pleasure. Money and Ownership.

There were billions of them at these times, and they became even more. Every idea against this way of destruction was an attack on the game. It must have been those years as they started to raise a third god on their sky. Therefore they called these years the Age of Enlightenment. They created a new game in the game, with new rules. These rules don't directly define what you have to do. They where invented to rule what's true and what's false.

The purpose of the new game was to be sure that the rules of truth and lie always say that they know and therefore everything is right. You could say it was one of the last attempts to keep the illusion up.

A thing to remember is that no one of them knew of the game. They were the game. They created an illusionary reality around them. Everything that did not fit into the rules of truth was ignored, denied or feared.

We don't really know how all of this ended, but we believe it has something to do with a new kind of apes. Not distinguishable by physical matters but with an open mind. It also seems that this apes managed to wake up. And so they weren't apes anymore.

The apes never realized, that there was only one move to win this game. To make the rules.
